Bloc Party

Posted by BananaBreadMuffin Oct. 16, 2009 @ 7:02 AM EDT

I love Bloc Party. I saw them last night for the eighth time, and each time they continually amaze me. This time they played one of my favourite b-sides, Little Thoughts, and I managed to be right at the front at the centre, so managed to touch the lead singer, Kele Okereke. This might not sound like much but it's pretty awesome to me. I also ALMOST got a setlist, and my flatmate got one.
The setlist was incredible, the atmosphere was amazing, the crowd went wild, and the gig was amazing.

Music of the week:

Bloc Party - Little Thoughts

.

Bloc Party - Two More Years

.

Turnabout Jazz Soul - Phoenix Wright - Objection!

They were ok in the early stages (i.e. helicopter, banquet), but wen they started using effects on songs like mercury, they jsut lost me, not a big fan anymore D:

I know what you mean, I started loving them because of Silent Alarm and their more recent stuff's pretty wierd, but Mercury's easily their least Bloc Party-ish song.

The other night they did play a lot of older stuff though which was good. Helicopter, Banquet, Like Eating Glass, Positive Tension, Little Thoughts, This Modern Love....
